Dean of the Senate Marc R. Pacheco (D-Taunton) announced Monday, July 222 that the Massachusetts Legislature passed its Fiscal Year 2020 budget, including provisions that give money to the Marion Council on Aging.

The budget  provides $130,000 for the Councils on Aging in the first Plymouth and Bristol district, including $10,000 to the municipalities of Berkley, Carver, Dighton, Marion, and Raynham.

“These resources allocated in the budget will help local Councils on Aging better serve seniors in their respective communities,” said Senator Pacheco. “Throughout my time in the legislature, I have advocated for funding and initiatives that improve senior care.  I am proud to continue that support and very pleased that these funds have been sustained in the legislature’s final budget so that Councils on Aging in my district can continue to provide important activities and initiatives for local seniors.”
