Feb 13, 2024

Buzzards Bay Sail & Power Squadron, a local boating organization part of United States Power Squadron (America’s Boating Club), is offering a boating safety course and a series of seminars.

America’s Boating Course begins Feb. 27 and is a NASBLA-approved course. The live, virtual course “covers the basics a person should know before venturing out on the water” and is accepted by Massachusetts for the issuance of Boating Safety Certificates, a press release said. The class is $65 per student, and pre-registration is required.

On Feb. 28, Buzzards Bay Sail & Power Squadron begins its winter seminar program. These seminars cover boating topics such as trailering boats, nautical charts and coastal navigation. Seminars are online from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The first seminar, on trailering, costs $30 for United States Power Squadron members and $40 for non-members. The latter three courses on coastal navigation are $40 for United States Power Squadron members and $50 for non-members
