Cases reported at Sippican School, district building

The 16th and 17th covid cases related to the Old Rochester Regional School district were reported on Nov. 12 in press releases from the district. 

It’s not clear whether the people who tested positive are students, faculty or staff.

One case was reported at the district’s Mattapoisett campus, including the high school, junior high and central office. 

The person who tested positive is now in isolation, and was last in school on Nov. 12. 

Contact tracing is being conducted by the Mattapoisett Board of Health, and those who are determined close contacts, or people who were within six feet of the individual who tested positive for more than 10 minutes, will be notified and expected to quarantine for two weeks. 

Another case was found at Sippican School on Nov. 12.

The individual who tested positive was last in school on Nov. 6, and is now in isolation. 

Contact tracing is being done by the Marion Board of Health, and close contacts will be expected to quarantine. 

No further information about the cases was made available.
