Catherine Connolly appointed as permanent police sergeant
ROCHESTER — Acting Sergeant Catherine Connolly has been promoted to a permanent sergeant in the Rochester Police Department.
At a Monday, June 1 Rochester Select Board meeting Connolly was recommended and appointed as a sergeant having been an acting sergeant.
Rochester Police Chief Michael Assad recommended Connolly for the position saying she will serve Rochester with integrity and strong leadership.
“Since assuming the role of acting Sergeant, Sergeant Connolly has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism and dedication to both the members of the department and the residents of the town of Rochester,” Assad said.
Connolly is the supervisor of the Community Engagement team and has been a detective with the department.
“Sergeant Connolly has continually demonstrated sound judgment, strong communication skills and a commitment to the mission and values of the Rochester Police Department,” Assad said.
