Community Preservation Act funding applications will soon be available in Marion
MARION — Community Preservation Act funding has been used in Marion to construct a pavilion at Osprey Marsh, install fencing at Benjamin D. Cushing Community Park and construct pickleball courts at the playground on Point Road.
More funding is available. Applications for funding can be picked up in the town clerk’s office at the Marion Town House on Jan. 13, 2025.
The Community Preservation Act is a Massachusetts Law that allows participating cities and towns to adopt a real estate tax surcharge supplemented by State matching funds in order to fund community preservation according to the town’s community preservation committee.
Eligible projects must be directed towards open space/recreation, historic preservation or community housing.
Applications must be filled out by Feb. 17 to be considered for presentation at 2025’s annual town meeting.
