Congregational Church celebrates White Gift Pageant

The Mattapoisett Congregational Church held its White Gift Pageant on Sunday to celebrate the story of Christmas.
The annual event is a tradition more than 80 years old.
Children dress as angels, sheep, shepherds, Mary and Joseph in the Christmas play, which includes scripture reading and songs. The event culminates with members of the congregation bringing gifts wrapped in white to baby Jesus.
The gifts are donations to local children in need.
