A few months after it did a program on counting birds, The Marion Natural History Museum's after-school group had the chance to inspect some of the equipment that Herring Warden Dave Watling uses to count local herring populations on April 3.
Participants heard about the herring species the counters might see, their food chain, life cycle and the predators of alewives in our area.
