Cumberland Farms employees covid-free, store reopens

Oct 6, 2020

MARION — Cumberland Farms, on the corner of Route 6 and Front Street, has reopened after an employee tested positive for the coronavirus on Sept. 29.

In an update at an Oct. 6 Board of Health meeting, Public Health Nurse Lori Desmarais said all employees at the location have since tested negative.

The store reopened days after the positive case, following cleaning by an industrial cleaning company.

The employee who tested positive informed her co-workers that day, and the store was promptly closed that afternoon.

When the store closed, Town Adminstrator Jay McGrail said that, after an investigation was conducted by Public Health Agent David Flaherty and Fire Chief Brian Jackvony, the town is “satisfied with the response plan that they’ve given us.”
