ROCHESTER — The Rochester Council on Aging will host its third annual art show, and this year has a leafy green theme.

The ”garden party” art show will be Thursday, Aug. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m.

“It will be an evening filled with many different expressions of art,” an announcement said.

Applications for town artists over the age of 60 who have created paintings or drawings are available at the Rochester Senior Center.

A separate category has been created this year for textile arts such as quilting, crewel, needlepoint, wood turning and other art creations.

There will be light refreshments — wine and hors d'oeuvres — and family is welcome at the “fabulous presentation.”

“Come and meet the talented artists who never cease to amaze us with their wonderful works of art,” an announcement said.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite pieces. The winner of the contest will receive a “People’s Choice Award.”
