Thursday, April 18

Take a watercolor course.

Patricia White will teach a six-week course, Beginning and Continuing Watercolor Painting for Adults at the Marion Art Center from April 18 to May 23.The class will be held on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon in the Art Center’s Studio.The cost for classes is $140 for members and $155 for non-members. At least five students must register for the class to run, and students must supply their own materials.  

Friday, April 19

Have dinner with the Knights of Columbus.

The Knights of Columbus will host its April dinner at 5:30 p.m. The baked fish dinner will be held on the lower level at 57 Fairhaven Road, Mattapoisett. Doors will open at 5 p.m. Tickets for the dinner will be $15. 

Saturday, April 20

Enjoy the Easter carnival.

The First Congregational Church will team up with Plumb Corner merchants and multiple other community organizations n Easter carnival for children to enjoy. The event will offer carnival games for prizes and candy-filled eggs, a bouncy house, hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, ice cream samples, face painting, balloon animals, and the Easter Bunny. The carnival will go from 12 to 2 p.m. and will be at the Rochester Congregational Church, 11 Constitution Way.Pre-register at vbspro.events/p/fccreastercarnival2019

Sunday, April 21

Celebrate Easter with tri-town churches

Wake up with the First Congregational Church of Marion at their Easter sunrise service at Silvershell Beach 6 a.m. For a later sunrise service at 7 a.m. go to the First Congregational Church of Rochester church green or to the Gazebo on Shipyard Park. Later risers can go to the FCCR’s Easter Sunday service at 9:30 a.m. People can also go to the First Congregational Church of Marion’s Easter service at 10 a.m. Saint Gabriel’s will host an 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Easter Sunday Service. The Mattapoisett Congregational Church will also host a 10 a.m. Easter service. 

Monday, April 22

Explore outdoor art at the Elizabeth Taber Library.

From 3 to 4 p.m. the library invites creatives to get outside and make some art. Participants can use brushes, sticks, spray bottles, water balloons and more to make wild, drippy, out-of-this-world art. For questions about the event call the Elizabeth Taber Library at 508-748-1252.

Tuesday, April 23

Go to the premium outlets with the Rochester Senior Center.

The Rochester Senior Center will host an outing to the Wrentham Premium Outlets and lunch at The Cracker Barrel. The trip will leave at 8:30 a.m. on 67 Dexter Lane
and return around 4 p.m. RVSP and pay $5 to reserve a spot in the van.

Wednesday, April 24

Talk with the Senator.

Senator Rodrigues’ office will be at the Rochester Senior Center, 67 Dexter Lane from noon to 2 p.m. Staff members will be able to answer questions and discuss political concerns.

Check out ORRJHS art showcase.

Old Rochester Regional Junior High School will present its Showcase Night from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Junior High School Auditorium. This school-wide exhibition will feature student artwork, performances by student musicians, class projects, and student activity displays. Student-made, hand-painted flower pots and raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the event. Proceeds will go toward the purchase of new a display structure for exhibiting Junior High student work. This event is free and light refreshments will be served.
