Elizabeth Taber Library to begin contactless pickup, restart programs

Jun 10, 2020

MARION — The Elizabeth Taber Library will begin offering contactless curbside pickup of Marion materials starting Tuesday June 23.  Pick-up opportunities can be made by appointment on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12 to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m.

To use curbside pickup, patrons should place a hold online at Sailsinc.org or over the phone at 508-748-1252. If a library user does not have a cell phone they can let librarians know at pickup.

Staff will then place a bag with books on the pickup table.

The Elizabeth Taber Library will begin accepting return of library materials June 15 to 18 from noon to 2 p.m. Place return materials in tubs in front of the book drop, not the book drop itself. The library will not be accepting donations of books at this time.

Library users can book a librarian for technology help, book advice or reference help starting on Monday June 22. Patrons can call the library Monday to Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. to book a librarian.

The kick-off event for the Summer Reading program, “Imagine Your Story,” will take place June 22 at 2 p.m.

Called Wildlife Encounters, the program offers an up close and virtual, interactive experience with wild animals. Participants should tune in through the library’s website or on our Facebook page for information on how to participate.

Eastern Bank is teaming up with the Elizabeth Taber Library to donate a dollar to Heifer International for every hour that children read as part of the program. Get reading logs and
recommended book lists for children pre-K through grade 6 online at ElizabethTaberLibrary.org or SippicanLibrary.com.

Each week, the library will hold virtual Lunch Bunch, virtual Storytime, STEAM Challenge and special activities on its website and Facebook page. Patrons can join for Yoga with Elke Pierre, Take a Tromp through the Swamp with Tom Sieling, explore Magic Imagination with Steven Craig and do puppet craft and art projects with Benares Angeley.
