A Fall River man was injured in a single-car accident near Exit 20 on I-195 East at 2:35 a.m. on Sunday. Witnesses described the involved vehicle, a 2001 Toyota Corolla as having been out of control before it crashed into a tree near Exit 20.

Joseph Frias, 42, of Fall River, was taken to Tobey Hospital in Wareham with minor injuries. Eduarda Frias, 39, the passenger in the vehicle, was uninjured.

State Police responding to the scene cited Frias with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation and a marked lanes violation.

The vehicle was towed from the scene and Exit 20 was reopened by 4 a.m.
