MATTAPOISETT — Author Alfred H. Saulniers is showcasing the storied history of French immigrants in New Bedford at his upcoming author talk on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. in the Mattapoisett Free Public Library, located at 7 Barstow Street.

Saulnier’s new book, The French of New Bedford, shares insights into the arrival of French immigrants in New Bedford and the growth and decline of their presence following immigration restrictions. The event is free to the public and people of all ages are welcome.
