Fly fishing course, walks to be hosted by Buzzards Bay Coalition offerings

Apr 1, 2022

Buzzards Bay Coalition is hosting three Tri-Town activities in April.

Elements of Fly Fishing will be presented from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 9 at Mary’s Pond in Rochester. The session will teach participants about fly fishing. Those attending must bring their own gear and a valid fishing license. A Bay Adventure specialist will provide tips and guidance. The pond is stocked with trout and is shared with a nesting pair of osprey. There are two unpaved parking lots off of Perry Road.

A mindfulness walk will be offered from 11 a.m. to noon Sunday, April 10 at Nasketucket Bay State Reservation in Mattapoisett.

An Arbor Day bird walk will take place from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30 at Tinkhampton Woodlands, 29 Long Plain Road, Mattapoisett. This is a chance to observe flocks of birds as they return to the area.

All of these events are free. For more information, call (717) 683-3608 or e-mail lamar@savebuzzardsbay.org.
