A reception and book signing will be held at The Inn on Shipyard Park in Mattapoisett on May 9 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. to celebrate the publication of Jim Shannon’s first novel, “Dying for Attention. ” The thriller is set in a small town high school, where students and staff are being murdered.

Shannon taught English at Old Rochester Regional High School for many years, chaired the English Department and currently teaches classes at Bristol Community College.  He has been published in The Providence Journal, Boston Herald, Mad magazine and the TV Guide TV Guide.  “Dying for Attention” is his first novel and can be purchased on Amazon.
