Mattapoisett Museum Meeting

MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Museum is hosting its Annual Meeting at 5 Church St. from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4.

Following a brief business meeting, attendees are welcome to join “an engaging talk” with Native American historian and author Linda Coombs. Coombs is a member of the Aquinnah Wampanoag and a curator of the museum’s upcoming exhibit on the Wamanoag of Mattapoisett. She will discuss the topic of historical erasure, bringing “deep cultural insight and a vital perspective to local history” in Mattapoisett.

Yoga at Ned’s Point Lighthouse

MATTAPOISETT — The Studio is holding an all-levels Lighthouse Yoga session with instructor Donny Rudnick on Saturday, Sept. 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

All are welcome to attend, with The Studio encouraging participants to “bring your mat, some water and a friend” to Ned’s Point Lighthouse in Mattapoisett for the yoga session.

New England Rodeo

ROCHESTER — The New England Rodeo is welcoming several Make-A-Wish families to their Saturday, Sept. 6 rodeo. This event invites participants to partake in this “special evening” in which the National Anthem will also be sung by a Wish Child.

The rodeo will run as regularly scheduled, with events such as barrel racing and bull riding spotlighting youth, amateur and professional competitors.

Gates will open at 5 p.m., with the youth rodeo beginning at 6 p.m. and the professional rodeo beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can only be purchased on site with cash. Food trucks, vendors and a mechanical bull will also be available at the rodeo. 

There is limited bleacher seating available, and attendees are welcome to bring chairs and picnic blankets. The event is located at 65 Pine Street in Rochester.
