The fourth annual Freezin' For a Reason polar plunge will take place at Mattapoisett Town Beach on Jan. 1 at noon.

The event raises funds for the hidden costs cancer patients and their families face that are not covered by insurance, such as gas and parking for trips to the hospital and other bills.

All are invited to participate. Creative dress is encouraged.
