MATTAPOISETT — The Friends of Ned’s Point Lighthouse are seeking donations from the community for restoration efforts. 

In June 2019, Buzzards Bay area lighthouses owned by the Coast Guard were closed to the public due to lead paint. Now, the Friends are working to raise money for a complete restoration Ned’s Point Lighthouse.

Those who wish to donate can mail a check to the Friends of Ned’s Point Lighthouse at P.O. Box 537 Mattapoisett, MA 02739. Supporters can also donate through the Friends’ website, friendsofnedspointlighthouse.com. 

The Friends also offer memberships, which range from $20 per year contributions to $5,000 contributions.
