Here’s what to do on Halloweekend in the Tri-Town

Oct 26, 2020

Another holiday, same pandemic.

Halloween will still be happening in the Tri-Town, but it will look a little different due to covid.

On Friday, Oct. 30, residents can trick or treat from trunk to trunk at Old Rochester’s Trunk or Treat event hosted by the Class of 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Sign up for a time slot by scanning the QR code on the event poster.

The Sippican Lands Trust will have a self-guided Halloween walk at Brainard Marsh set up from Friday, Oct. 30 through Sunday, Nov. 1.

See spooky decorations along the trail and read along to “The Ghost-Eye Tree” written by Bill Martin, Jr. and John Archambault and illustrated by Ted Rand. Parking for Brainard Marsh is located near the corner of Bass Point Road and Delano Road (look for the Sippican Lands Trust’s Brainard Marsh sign).

On Halloween, the Mattapoisett Police Association will be holding a Trick-or-Treat drive through event on Halloween at Center School from 4 to 6 p.m.

The Marion Art Center will have multiple activities happening for Halloween.

The MAC encourages kids to send in their own photos to its virtual Halloween parade, visit the MAC to write or draw on a Halloween-themed community message board, and see the spooky decorations all around the building.

On Halloween, pose for a photo taken for free in costume outside at the MAC from 1 to 5 p.m. that will be available online later in the week.

The MAC witches will be on site from 1 to 5 p.m. for a contactless candy giveaway. This year, the MAC goody bags include a special surprise for any young artist. Call the MAC at 508-748-1266 to arrange for drive-by pick up, or come by to tour the grounds and collect a goody bag.

The Elizabeth Taber Library will be holding a virtual costume contest.

Costume photos can be submitted through Nov. 1 on the library’s website at elizabethtaberlibrary.org

There are prizes for the best children, teen and adult costumes, as well as awards for spookiest, funniest and best group costumes.

The library is also offering ghost hunting kits. Call the library at 508-748-1252 for more information.
