Selectmen will interview potential fire chiefs on Thursday, June 4 and Tuesday, June 9.

The names of the candidates have not yet been released said Town Administrator Paul Dawson.

“I have been busy contacting people and will continue to that until Thursday. Many of these people are working full time and we aren’t sure if they informed their employers,” Dawson said.

He said he was impressed with those who submitted applications and went through a preliminary interview.

“There are a number of well qualified people in the pool,” Dawson said. “The board will not be disappointed.”

The June 4 interviews begin at 5:30 p.m. The June 9 interviews start at 6 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the Town House conference room and are open to the public.

Current Fire Chief Tom Joyce announced his intention to retire on Jan. 14. Joyce steps down at the end of June.
