Joanne Lomberto, 77
Joanne M. Soles Muldowney Lomberto, age 77, of Mashpee passed away suddenly on May 30, 2017 surrounded by family. Joanne was born on July 15, 1939 in Medford, Massachusetts, the daughter of Jerome and Olive Soles.
Joanne was a loving mother and grandmother who actively participated in all aspects of her family’s life.
She created a beautiful home that was enjoyed by family and friends throughout the year, especially during the holidays when she hosted warm and joyful gatherings. In the spring, she could be found planting her favorite petunias and decorating her window boxes with a tasteful and vibrant collection of flowers.
She always found time for the Cape’s beaches and oceans, where she enjoyed summer days with family and friends, and boat rides with her children and grandchildren.
Joanne was there for all the major milestones in her children and grandchildren's lives, from early morning hockey games and figure skating meets across Massachusetts, to annual holidays and birthdays.
She was a force of nature who bestowed love, support and understanding on all she encountered. Her outer beauty was surpassed only by her inner beauty. She will be missed but never forgotten.
Joanne is survived by her three children, Francis W. Muldowney IV of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; Leland A. Muldowney of Mashpee and Boston, MA; Elizabeth A. Muldowney of Marion, MA, and cherished grandmother of Zackery L. Way, Alexandria M. Way, Francis W. Muldowney V and Mya Muldowney.
She is also survived by two brothers, Jerome L. Soles Jr. of Brentwood, NH and Christopher X. Soles of Freeport, ME.
Friends are invited to join family at the vigil mass where Joanne will be remembered on Saturday, July 15, at 4 p.m. at Christ the King Parish in Mashpee, MA. A reception will follow at the home she shared with her son, Leland. The date coincides with her birthday, a fitting tribute to a extraordinary woman.
