Joint School Committee meeting postponed until Monday

May 28, 2014

The Joint School Committee meeting scheduled for Wednesday night was postponed due to a technical error with the posting, according to a note sent out on Wednesday afternoon.

The meeting is expected to draw a crowd of parents and residents asking the committee to re-open a discussion on the Good Friday holiday.

At the committee's last quarterly meeting, a majority voted in favor of removing the religious holiday from the school calendar. The committee members also voted in favor of a full day off for students on the eve of Thanksgiving, which had been a half day vacation.

The meeting has been rescheduled for Monday, June 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the media room of Old Rochester Regional Junior High School.
