Juniors best seniors at ORR Olympics
The juniors took home the gold (figuratively speaking) at Old Rochester Regional High's Olympic games on Friday afternoon.
The post-school events at ORR's gym had freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors vying for cash prizes from the Student Council that would go into their class funds.
The students played tug of war, speed ball, watusi (a take on dodgeball), and had a pie eating contest.
The juniors and seniors have had an ongoing competition all year. The 11th grade beat their elders with a win at the homecoming skits, but the 12th grade girls came back with a victory at the powderpuff football game in November.
So, the stakes were high during one round of watusi. "You're going to have to lose your morals and just hit a girl!" yelled one senior in the heat of the game.
Unfortunately, even hitting a girl could not save the seniors who lost first place by only two, giving the juniors $200 in their class fund. The seniors took home $100 for their class and the sophomores came in third, getting $50 for the bronze.
