The Marion Institute is hosting a presentation by research ecologist Dave Wiley, Ph.D., as the second part of the Marion Institute Connector Series.
The presentation will be held at the Marion Music Hall on Tuesday, Aug. 15, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Wiley will speak on the interconnected behavior of endangered whales, seabirds, and the forage fish sand lance that play an important role in the ecosystem’s food web.
Wiley has pioneered methods to successfully rescue stranded whales and dolphins across the globe, and his research was instrumental in getting Boston’s shipping lanes moved to protect the endangered North American Right Whales - the first change of U.S. shipping lanes ever to protect an endangered species.
