MATTAPOISETT — Discover a gem in the Mattapoisett Free Public Library’s own backyard.
On Wednesday, July 24 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., curator Connor Gaudet will give a presentation at the library on the Mattapoisett Museum, a local history museum.
The Mattapoisett Museum is housed in an 1821 church building with an attached replica carriage house.
“Learn about life in our unique town from past to present,” a Mattapoisett Library press release said.
Gaudet will speak about the museum’s history, collections and its new summer exhibit “ Wanderer 100: The Afterlife and Legacy of Mattapoisett's Last Whaler.”
Learn about recent exhibits, programs offered by the museum and a recent donation of a replica of the Wanderer, the last whaling ship built in Mattapoisett.
