Learn about local mushrooms on Sept. 30

MARION - The Sippican Lands Trust and the Boston Mycological Club is hosting a mushroom walk at the White Eagle property in Marion on Sept. 30 at 10:30 a.m.

Learn more about the turkey tail mushroom and other local fungi with Ken Fienberg and other guest experts from the Boston Mycological Club, the oldest amateur mycological club in the United States.

The White Eagle property supports a variety of habitats including upland pine, mixed hardwood forests, shrub and wooded swamp, freshwater marsh and cranberry bogs.

Sippican Lands Trust’s White Eagle property is located off of Route 6 in Marion. Take Parlowtown Road across from the town cemetery and follow the road until you reach the cul-de-sac. Bear left onto the dirt road and follow past the abandoned cranberry bog on your right. Parking is available directly past the bog. The kiosk is a short walk beyond.
