NOTICE TO MEMBERS

The Board of Directors of Commonwealth Utilities Federal Credit Union (Commonwealth Utilities FCU), Marion, Massachusetts hereby announces the cancellation of its excess share insurance coverage provided by the Massachusetts Credit Union Share Insurance Corporation (MSIC). As a result, all Commonwealth Utilities FCU member accounts that are open as of March 31, 2023, the effective date of Commonwealth Utilities FCU’s merger with Taunton Federal Credit Union (Taunton FCU) that exceed the amount of National Credit Union Administration’s (NCUA) federal share insurance level of at least $250,000 per member account will no longer have excess share insurance from MSIC. The effective date of the merger is the date of the executed merger agreement, when Taunton FCU assumes Commonwealth Utilities FCU’s assets, liabilities, and shares.

This credit union is federally insured by NCUA, and the credit union will continue to be federally insured by NCUA after the merger. After the effective date of the merger, your member accounts will continue to be federally insured by NCUA up to the standard limit of $250,000 per member account for individual accounts and a member’s interest in all his or her joint accounts combined will also continue to be federally insured by NCUA up to $250,000 per member.

Pursuant to Chapter 76, Section 12B of the Massachusetts General Laws, you are notified that there will be a PUBLIC HEARING of the Mattapoisett School Committee regarding school choice for the 2023-2024 school year at 5:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 13, 2023. This meeting will be held at the Center School located at 16 Barstow Street, Mattapoisett, MA 02739. This meeting will be conducted in a hybrid format. Public is able to attend in person or via zoom.
