Lionberger Woods walk sees large turnout
Jan 29, 2017
The Lionberger Woods walk, hosted by the Rochester Land Trust, had one of the "biggest turnouts ever" on Sunday afternoon.
It was a mild January day, making it perfect for an informational stroll through the property.
The walk through the 11-acre property was led by Rochester native Mindy LaBranche.
Along the walk LaBranche pointed out different types of plants, berries, trees and birds. She also gave a few survival tips, should anyone ever find themselves stuck in the woods.
"These pines are very high in vitamin a and vitamin c, and can be made into tea," she said. "Pretty much anything can be made into tea."
