• MATTAPOISETT — The Lions Club will host a dinner meeting on May 8 to present the Melvin Jones award to several of its members. Members who have already earned the award will earn a progressive pin.

  The Melvin Jones award is named after the founder of the Lions Club, a businessman in the insurance industry, prolific writer and service-dedicated man. 

  The dinner and awards ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. in the event room of the Inn on Shipyard Park. Anyone interested in attending the dinner should R.V.S.P by May 6 at noon.
