Local alpaca farms team up for Alpaca Day “Paca Run”
MATTAPOISETT — National Alpaca Farm Days are Sept. 25 and 26 and to celebrate, Pine Meadows Alpaca Farm in Mattapoisett is teaming up with other area alpaca farms for a “Paca Run.”
Similar to a poker run, participants in the “Paca Run” will receive a slip with a list of five farms.
When they visit a farm on the list, kids will get a codeword for their slips and adults will pick a card from a deck of cards.
After visiting all five farms, the kids’ slip will be redeemed for a raffle ticket with a chance to win a basket with around $250 worth of Alpaca products donated by the farms. The adult with the best "Paca” (Poker) hand will also receive a basket worth about $250. Participants can start and end at any farm on the list.
The winner will be picked on Sunday at the end of the day.
There will be food, drinks, and ice cream at one of the farms and of course Alpacas at ALL of the farms. The farm stores will be open for shopping during the event.
The list of participating farms is as follows:
Child’s Play Alpaca Farm (245 Tremont St. Carver MA, 02330), Ponderosa Paca Farm (20 Natures Crossing, Middleboro MA, 02346), Pine Meadow Alpacas (109 Marion Rd.
