With a significant percentage of the world living out their lives despite threats posed by various natural hazards, a number of questions are bound to arise — such as, why?
Local author Matt Davis will be discussing the reasons why people choose to live in risky places, the psychological factors that affect their perceptions of the risk and disaster recovery at Plumb Memorial Library, located at 17 Constitution Way in Rochester.
Join Davis on Saturday, Jan. 11 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. as he draws from his research and an array of experiences, including at Italy’s Mt. Vesuvius, Washington’s Mt. Rainer and in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
The library asks those interested in attending to reserve a seat: plumblibrary.com/events-calendar/
