Marion appoints new registrar

Oct 28, 2019

MARION — After years of being unable to find a third registrar, Marion Selectmen appointed Ami Milano to the position on Oct. 28.

Town Administrator Jay McGrail said that the town had posted several times about the position, but had no one apply. Town Clerk Elizabeth Magauran was able to recruit Milano.

McGrail said he spoke with Milano last week and she seemed excited about the position and the chance to help.

As registrar, Milano will work 20 hours a week to help with the annual census, elections, voter registration and maintenance of voter records. Registrars work more around elections and the census, and may work as little as one hour a week in the summer.

There is one other registrar, and Maguaran serves as the third registrar. Milano will start this week to help with census work.
