Marion Art Center installs message board for positivity

Apr 25, 2020
MARION — The town’s Art Center is closed, but still trying to bring people together and share hope through a community message board outside of its building.

Wayne Tirrell and New England Coastal Contractors, MAC Board member Kim Tirrell, and local ORR student Taylor Green installed the board, which Art Center organizers hope will display positive messages from anyone in the community who wants to leave one.

The board reads “hope is not cancelled” at the top.

Those who want to add a message to the board should bring their own paint, pens or markers, add a drawing, painting, poem or inspirational words, wear a mask and stay six feet away from any others who may be adding to or reading the board.

The Art Center also invites those who add submissions to take a photo and email it to info@marionartcenter.org with subject "Messages at the MAC," and to upload it to social media with the hashtags #MessagesattheMAC and #theMAC.
