Marion church welcomes Boy Scouts

MARION — St. Gabriel’s Episcopal church is a religious organization, but also serves as a charter organization for the Marion Cub Scout Pack 32.
On Feb. 10 the church celebrated that fact with a Scout Sunday service, which invited Marion Cub Scout Pack 32 and Marion Boy Scout Troop 32 to attend the service. Church members were also encouraged to wear memorabilia from when they were a boy or girl scout.
Reverend. Geoffrey Piper, rector at St. Gabriel’s achieved the rank of Eagle Scout when he participated with the scouts in his youth. The Scout oath that Boy Scouts take includes references to God as well as other promises.
