MARION — The Annual Meeting of The Friends of the Marion Council on Aging will be held on Thursday, Oct. 21 at 5 p.m. at the Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center.

The friends will meet in person with masks required. The meeting is open to the public.

Architect Laura Fitch will be the meeting’s guest speaker. She is a founding principal of Fitch Architecture & Community Design in Amherst, and specializes in cohousing and smart growth communities.

She has worked on programming, schematic design, and full architectural services on more than 30 cohousing communities across North America for which the firm has received numerous awards.

Alongside the guest speaker, the annual meeting will celebrate some of the Friends of the Council on Aging’s recent accomplishments, including the walking path installed on the community center lawn last month.
