Marion Concert Band begins summer series July 9

On Monday, July 9, the Marion Concert Band will continues its Monday evening concert series with a program of music from the Broadway stage.
The program, which includes highlights from some of Broadway's most memorable shows, is as follows:

- Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral - R. Wagner
- Lohengrin (Introduction to Act III) - R. Wagner
- Concertino for Clarinet - C. M. von Weber
- Daniel Moniz, clarinet
- Broadway Show-Stoppers Overture - arr. W. Barker
- West Side Story Selections - L. Bernstein
- The Showman - H. Akers
- Selections from Les Miserables - C.-M. Schönberg
- Gigi - F. Loewe
- Selections from My Fair Lady - F. Loewe
- Highlights from Man of La Mancha - M. Leigh
- American Legion March - C. Parker
Daniel Moniz, clarinet soloist, performs regularly with several local ensembles. He is the principal clarinetist of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Wind Ensemble and a member of the Swansea Community Musicians. He performs regularly with the St. Cecilia Band from Fall River and has been a member of the Marion Concert band since 2005.
The concert, under the direction of Tobias Monte, will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Robert Broomhead Bandstand, Island Wharf off Front Street in Marion.
