Marion Concert Band to perform American classics
On Friday, July 24, the Marion Concert Band continues its evening concert series with a program of American popular music.
The concert will feature Marion resident and flutist Wendy Rolfe who will perform “Concertino for Flute” by C. Chaminade. Rolfe earned her bachelor’s degree from the Oberlin Conservatory and her master’s and doctor of musical arts degrees from the Manhattan School of Music. She is professor of flute at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and has been a member of the Marion Concert Band since 1999.
The concert, under the direction of Tobias Monte, will begin at 7 p.m. at the Robert Broomhead Bandstand, Island Wharf off Front Street in Marion. All concerts are free and open to the public.
