MARION — The Marion Department of Public Works will install permanent pavement on the following roadways during the week of Aug. 25: Spring Street, from U.S. Route 6 to Ryder Lane, Front Street, from U.S. Route 6 to Ryder Lane, and Wells Road, from Spring Street to the Mill Street Extension.

During paving, a temporary traffic detour will be implemented. Ryder Lane will be used as a detour around paving on both Spring Street and Front Street. Traffic will be redirected to Spring Street and the Mill Street Extension during paving on Wells Road. Only one detour will be conducted at a time.

Driveway access for residents within the paving area will be maintained, with small delays to be anticipated.

Motorists can expect delays while driving through construction areas and should seek alternate routes. The department asks that vehicles are not parked along these roadways during construction.

The community center will also receive pavement improvements at this time, so delays may occur and parking may be limited in this area.
