Marion Cub Scouts compete in Pinewood Derby

Feb 8, 2015

Marion Cub Scout Pack 32’s Pinewood Derby race featured crashes, photo finishes and plenty of competition on Sunday.

The event gave the boys a chance to show off the creative designs and speed of the small wooden cars each had assembled.

“Are you ready for some racing?” Cubmaster Leo Grondin asked.

“Yeah!” came an enthusiastic response from the Cubs.

In addition to the races, boys received prizes for their cars based on Cub Scout spirit, most original and coolest car.

Before the race, Scott Robertson was recognized for donating all of the car kits the boys used for the race.

Top prizes included trophies and a Pinewood Derby patch.
