Marion Mile children’s running program returns June 28
MARION — The 20th annual Marion Mile summer running series for children starts Tuesday, June 28 at 6 p.m. at Tabor Academy.
This is a six-week series open to children ages 14 and under. The event takes place each Tuesday evening on the Tabor Academy turf fields accessible via Spring Street.
Families should arrive by 5:30 p.m., especially on the first week that a child runs, to finalize registration and pick up race numbers.
There will be two races each week with the older group of 7 to 14 year-olds running the two lap one-mile circuit first. The second group of younger runners will run a one loop half-mile circuit immediately afterwards.
All runners will be finished by 7 p.m.
There will be medals for all at the end of the summer. T-shirts will be provided to all runners, courtesy of race sponsor Wareham Pediatrics.
More information about the event is posted on the Facebook page “MarionMile.”
Applications are available by emailing race director Chris Adams at firstname.lastname@example.org.
