Marion Natural History Museum takes a trip to Bird Island

Students were given a lift to the island by the harbormaster crew.
Students had a blast exploring Bird Island Lighthouse on Sunday, May 21 with the Marion Museum’s afterschool group.
Marion Harbormaster Isaac Perry and the harbormaster crew allowed students to observe the nesting habitats of the Common and Roseate Terns.
“The Students had a blast carefully walking around birds eggs and nests on their way to the Bird Island Lighthouse for a quick tour to the top to learn a little about the history of the lighthouse,” wrote the Marion Natural History Museum in a press release.
