MARION — The Marion Natural History Museum’s afterschool group learned about freshwater turtles in Massachusetts recently.
Brian Bastarach of Bristol County Agricultural High School’s Natural Resources Department gave a presentation to children about how to identify some of the state’s rarest turtles, and what to do when encountering them.
Basarach presented children with a Diamondback terrapin, an Eastern Box turtle and a Plymouth red-bellied cooter.
