MARION — The Marion Police Department’s top dog will soon receive new protective gear thanks to a donation from a Taunton non-profit.
Vested Interest in K9s donated a bullet- and stab-proof vest to Norman, one of the department’s comfort dogs.
The phrase “Born to Love - Trained to Serve - Loyal Always” will be embroidered on the vest. It is expected to be delivered by the end of October.
The vest is worth about $1,800, and was sponsored by the nonprofit. Vested Interest in K9s provides protective vests and other assistance to dogs employed by law enforcement and related agencies throughout the country.
