MARION — The Marion Police Department has welcomed former Wareham Police officer Edward Johnson to the department, according to a July 26 Marion Police Department Facebook post. 

According to the post, Johnson has 28 years of experience  in communications and dispatching with Wareham Police. 

Johnson also has been a part-time police officer in Marion since 2005. 

“Officer Johnson has received many accolades during his career, including a citation from the Governor of Massachusetts for his assistance with a child who called 911 while his mother was having a medical emergency,” wrote the Marion Police Department in the post.
