Marion police, fire respond to two-car accident on Route 6
A collision on Route 6 resulted in one heavily damaged vehicle that had rolled over several times Wednesday afternoon.
Marion Police officers, firefighters and EMTs responded to the accident in front of Bayside Insurance Agency at approximately 12:15 p.m.
According to witnesses, two vehicles were involved.
Resident Heather Patrick said she saw an SUV “flip a couple of times” after striking the front end of another vehicle.
The SUV came to a rest on its passenger side. The second vehicle sustained some damage to its front end.
Firefighters and EMTs were seen extricating a man from the SUV, who was taken away on a stretcher.
It’s unknown how many were injured in the accident at this time.
A portion of Route 6 was open to two lanes of traffic while first responders cleared the scene.
