Marion realty group collects clothes for the homeless

MARION — Bernadette Kelly Realty group completed its third clothing drive for the homeless on March 5.

The realty group collected clothing and blankets that were picked up to be distributed to homeless people in Southeastern Massachusetts.

This time around, the group tried to be a little more proactive in getting the word out, and it paid off.

“This was definitely a lot,” Bernadette Kelly said.

When Cheryl Waterman of Harmon_E Ministries came to pick up the clothes, the group was able to fill up a full truck.

“We’re just trying to make it easy for people to drop stuff off, leaving it on the porch,” Kelly said.

The group will be holding another drive in a few weeks, with a focus on new and gently used ponchos boots, and sneakers, to help those in need through the wet Massachusetts spring.
