Marion resident to talk about climate change

Dr. Jennifer Francis is giving a web talk about climate change on May 17 a 11 a.m.
The lecture is called “The Arctic Meltdown and Extreme Weather: Untangling a Complex Story,” and is about new research looking at the possible impacts of an Arctic that is warming at twice the pace of the rise of the global temperature. She will discuss new results and efforts to understand climate change.
Francis, a Marion resident, is a professor of atmospheric science with the Rutgers University Department of Marine and Coastal Science.
