Marion sets up food program

Mar 17, 2020

MARION — With schools and some businesses closed, the town is making efforts to be sure no goes hungry as a result.

On March 17 at 1 p.m. the town started a food distribution program at the Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center. The program will also be held on Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m.

Participants should stay in a vehicle, show proof of residency and let volunteers know how many people in their family need food.

Residents who cannot travel to the community center or feel unsafe going out should call 508-748-3570 to make other arrangements.

Coastline Elderly Services is also offering daily meal deliveries for seniors. Call 508-748-3570 to sign up for this program.

Though unrelated to the food drive, Marion also wanted residents to know that curbside waste collection and transfer station schedules will remain unchanged.
