MARION — With the retirement of Water Committee Chairman David Pierce, Selectmen voted to dissolve the committee and have Selectmen meet on a quarterly basis instead with Rochester Water Commissioner Frank Underhill and members of the town’s Department of Public Works.

The board already act as the town’s water and sewer commissioners. Selectman John Waterman said at a June 2 meeting that the move will benefit the board because it is an area that’s “good for us to be more proactive in.”
