MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Democratic Town Committee will be hosting a special guest speaker on Wednesday, Aug. 27.

Nancy Becker, a member of Mass 50501, will be sharing insights on grassroots organizing, protecting democracy, local policy issues and national challenges.

Mass 50501 is an organization striving to “unite the people of Massachusetts to defend our rights, liberties, and democracy, to uphold the constitutional rule of law, and to stand against tyranny in all its forms,” according to the organization’s website.

The presentation will offer a perspective on the issues that matter most to voters and provide an opportunity for community members to engage directly with a local leader of an organization that is shaping the conversation at the state and national level.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. in the downstairs public reading room of the Mattapoisett Free Public Library. All are welcome to attend.
